Donal Young
As Chief of Development & Strategy at Six West Aviation, Donal Young brings over 35 years of experience in aviation. A skilled pilot, he has flown the Fokker 50, Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, A330 and A340 and remains actively flying the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
With more than 20 years of experience in aviation training, his work as an instructor, examiner and training manager has been instrumental in implementing Competence-Based Training (CBT) while enhancing pilot and crew performance.
Since 2015, his focus has been on aviation operations, playing a key role in launching three airlines while managing multiple aircraft entry-into-service projects. His expertise in operational efficiency, safety management and regulatory compliance has streamlined processes, improved performance and reduced costs.
A strong advocate for Just Culture and Safety Management Systems (SMS), he has led risk mitigation strategies to enhance safety and compliance. His leadership is defined by a commitment to cross-departmental collaboration, technological innovation and continuous improvement in aviation practices.
With a passion for driving efficiency and operational excellence, he continues to lead strategic initiatives that shape the future of the industry.
