How Currency Choice Impacts Business Decisions in Global Aviation Operations

Blog
Date July 18, 2025

In an era marked by fluctuating exchange rates and shifting economic priorities, flexibility in how services are priced and billed is no longer just a convenience, it’s a strategic necessity.

At Six West Aviation, we are proud to share that we have successfully completed our first aircraft movement billed in Euro (€) for one of our valued lessor clients. This represents a significant milestone in our commitment to client-focused service and financial agility.

Why Now?

The decision to offer quoting and billing in Euro is in direct response to the current strength of the US Dollar (USD) against the Euro. Over the past year, many of our European-based lessors and airline customers have highlighted the challenges associated with purchasing services exclusively in USD. In volatile market conditions, exchange rate discrepancies can have a meaningful impact on operational costs and cash flow.

By offering the option to quote and bill in Euro, Six West Aviation is helping customers:

A Global Industry Requires Global Thinking

Aviation has always been a truly international business. Aircraft are leased, flown, and serviced across borders—often within hours. Financial systems, however, haven’t always kept pace. Historically, the USD has been the de facto currency for aircraft leasing and movement services. While this remains true for many, our clients have increasingly voiced the need for greater currency flexibility.

Our move to enable Euro billing is part of a broader strategy at Six West Aviation: to make doing business with us as seamless, transparent, and adaptable as possible—no matter where you’re based or what your operational preferences may be.

What This Means for Our Clients

We are now actively quoting and billing in both USD and Euro, with additional currencies under review based on client demand. For lessors, operators, and airlines based in Europe or with a Euro cost base, this provides a straightforward way to better manage the financial aspects of aircraft transitions, ferry flights, and operational support.

This new billing option complements our full suite of flight operations and asset transition services, which are trusted by some of the world’s leading leasing companies and airlines.

Looking Ahead

As currency markets evolve and our industry continues to adapt to changing global dynamics, Six West Aviation remains committed to innovation, operational excellence, and exceptional client service. Offering billing in Euro is just one of many ways we’re listening, responding, and leading.

If you’re a lessor or airline seeking operational support with flexible financial terms, we’d be happy to discuss how we can help.
