January 2025 – Six West Aviation appoints Donal Young as Chief Development and Strategy Officer [PR]
Donal Young has been involved in aviation since joining Aer Lingus as a cadet pilot in October 1989. From there, he has flown in airlines across Europe, the Middle East, and the Indian Ocean. He has also flown aircraft from the main OEM’s and is currently licenced on the Airbus A320, A330 and A340.
Donal also holds a Boeing 737 type rating. Over the last two decades, his career has taken him down the operations route, having been involved in airline construction/reconstruction projects, such as establishing Air Seychelles as a new airline from 2015-2017, introducing a jet fleet of aircraft into Stobart Air from 2017-2021 and currently, as the Nominated Person Flight Operations in Malta, where he has worked extensively on the reconstruction of the National Airline of Malta, KM Malta Airlines.
In January 2025, Donal has been appointed as Chief Development and Strategy Officer as Six West, where the team strive to garner aviation excellence to assist in the leasing business with its world leading Flight Operations Solutions offerings.
